180.43 ΒΕΤΑ

Just three days after the GeForce 180.42, Nvidia has now introduced yet another Far Cry 2-oriented beta driver. Dubbed GeForce 180.43, the driver is paired up with the PhysX v8.10.13 software and has support for the GeForce 8 (only 8800s), 9 and GTX 200 series cards as well as for the GeForce 9300 and 9400 IGPs. This one is the new recommended driver for Far Cry 2 and it enables SLI on SLI-certified Intel X58-based motherboards with the GeForce GTX 280, GeForce GTX 260, GeForce 9800 GX2, GeForce 9800 GTX+, and GeForce 9800 GTX.

Αt last.. Πριν μερικά λεπτά το site της Nvidia έβγαλε online τους Big Bang II ή αλλιώς Forceware 180.48 final.

Σημείωση: Την ώρα που το τσέκαρα είχε μόνο για Vista νέους οδηγούς, αλλά μπορεί να μην έχουν ανανεώσει το site τους πλήρως ακόμα. Πρέπει να τους πέτυχα την ώρα που το κάνανε update γιατί πριν 30 λεπτά δεν υπήρχε τίποτα (το είχα τσεκάρει τυχαία)! Σίγουρα πάντως θα βγούν και για τα υπόλοιπα λειτουργικά άμεσα...

EDIT: Προστέθηκαν και οι versions για τα υπόλοιπα λειτουργικά συστήματα της MS (όχι για Linux ακόμα). Μια πρόχειρη μέτρηση σε Vantage έδειξε άυξηση κατά 10% περίπου. Από games, το Far Cry 2 που τσέκαρα έχει κερδίσει αρκετά αλλά δεν μέτρησα διαφορές. Δείχνει στο περίπου +10-15% πάνω πάντως, ίσως και πιο πολύ. Όσοι έχετε όρεξη μπορείτε να κάνετε καμιά μέτρηση να δείτε αν όντως ισχύουν τα νούμερα που ισχυρίζεται η nvidia παραπάνω (αν και όπως είναι φυσικό παίζει ρόλο και η πλατφόρμα, αλλά και το/τα gpu).

Και ναι "καπάκι" βγήκαν νέοι, ολοκαίνουργιοι, (ανεβήκαν πριν μερικά λεπτά της ώρας στο site).. WHQL Forceware v.181.22.
